YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!

Linda Leger
is coordinating projects that are coming
up and she will be needing help. So, if
you can help, please call her if she has not contacted you
already. The projects are as follows:

March 4 (Sunday) Volunteers needed to help with the
“Rock and Roll Marathon”. More information will be
available at our meeting this week and Linda plans to have
a sign up sheet available for those who are interested.

April 7 (Saturday) Volunteers are needed to work at the
“Crescent City Classic” Water Station No. 1. This is located
on Poydras Street between Baronne and Carondelet
Streets. A sign up sheet will be available this week.

RE-COMMITMENTS MADE!!

Some time ago, the membership of the Morning
Edition Club agreed to individually and as a club support
the Food Pantry of The United Churches of Algiers. That
meant contributing non-perishable food items or a cash
donation on the second Thursday of each month. Mary Lu
Cooper
has been faithfully coordinating our contributions
which unfortunately have been minimal recently. Last
Thursday she challenged the membership to either
support the project or agree to terminate our
involvement. The membership recommitted to support
this worthy project. This writer will commit to placing a
reminder in the issue of the Sunrise Sentinel just before
the second Thursday of the month. If I fail, Gary Bair says
“Make it simple!! When getting ready to go to our
meeting say ‘what should I bring?’ or put something in
your car a day or two before the meeting.”

On the first Thursday of the month, we have
agreed to bring our used newspapers to be donated to
JobLINK. Linda Bizzarro or a suitable alternate will see that
they are delivered. On the third Thursday, we are to bring
our used newspapers for LASPCA which will be delivered
by Linda Leger who also on this day coordinates the
monthly “Bingo and Birthdays” celebration at St. Luke’s
Medical Center. She always needs help with this in
addition to the youth from our Key Clubs.
